Hey folks! I noticed that nothing was posted to the Ecuador jobs section of this page. So... I have been to Ecuador 4 times within the last three years and think the place is so great (but so different). Working over there would be a great experience for me. I talked with an expat who has been in the country for a number of years about relocating and he pretty much told me out side of English teachers there is not too much for gringos.
This man is a very reliable source for such information, but I still question the findings. Considering the U.S. is Ecuador's largest trading partner and does billions of dollars in both exports and imports I would think that there would be some kind of opportunity doing business in English over the phones or via email.
But still, I don't know... Perhaps all of that business is tied up in the large export business that have been established for so long they practically run themselves.
Anyway, a move for me would be great if I could find something that would allow me to survive. Today I'm a student wrapping up my degree (B.A.) in political science from a Catholic University. Any ideas, comments, suggestions, or other?
Regards,
John
