Manta vs Cuenca

We are trying to figure out what the best area is for us. We love the beach, but don't like days on end with high 90's and bugs. We fear Cuenca might be too cold and wet.

Manta area:
What is the normal "summer" low/high temp?
What is the normal "winter" low/high temp?
When it is hot, is it a dry hot or humid hot?
Are there mosquito problems?

Cuenca:
