While I don't have exact figures, I have known of a number of deaths over the years by electrocution in Ecuador. I took a great picutre of a fellow outside of Chanduy and when I came back to see him several years to give him a copy of my book (his picture was in the book) , I discovered he had died due to being electrocuted. I then noticed stories from time to time of people dying in such accidents.
Yesterday a Polish expatriate died in Yantzaza. He was working with aluminum construction materials when they came into contact with a high tension wire. Two other workers were also injured and required medical treatment in Loja.
