Voting

Did you guys receive today's message from the Embassy stating that the CNE (Consejo Nacional Electoral) says that anyone registered to vote (which appears to be anyone with a cedula and a residency visa) must show up at the designated voting place, regardless of how long you have been in the country. I just checked my cedula number at the CNE website http://app.cne.gob.ec/lugarvotacion/ and indeed I am registered to vote, although I have only been a resident for a little over a year. Evidently if you are registered and do not vote, you may have trouble doing any administrative trámites (legal paperwork) in the future without the certificate of votation.
