Bahia de Caraquez

Rosemary and I spent 1.5 months in Ecuador and finally picked Bahia as the destination to retire. We purchased a new condo at Ocean Bay Towers & Resort and will be moving there next year. I was hoping anyone with good advise would like to share with us the ways in which we could move or not move our personal belonging. Is it advisable to purchase a new vehicle and bring it with us? Would be nice to tour Ecuador and have the freedom of having ones own vehicle and not rely on public transport. I realize that it is advisable to bring certain household items as these items are difficult to purchase in Ecuador. From what I understand very few people take any Malaria medication in this area of Ecuador. Also and advise where to purchase household items would be much appreciated.
