I admit it -- I love to read!
One problem with being outside the USA -- used bookstores in English are difficult to locate and although we have some places to trade books, they too are scarce. So what's a bibliphile to do?
Kindle! First I downloaded the free reading app available for my PC and I was in heaven -- until my computer crashed, and/or my internet would go out -- but my partner up north (Joel for those who've spoken to him) sent me my late birthday present with a great group of ladies who visited with us last week -- my own KINDLE 3G wifi enabled!
Yeah baby!
And before I bankrupted myself I also discovered that I can do searches on my computer for books costing nothing or just 99cents ...new authors or authors trying to hook you on their series (yes reading is much like drugs, and they offer you that first hit free only to hook you on their mystery or thriler anthologies ...whoa is me!) but still... I do a search for high ratings and low prices and download everything I can get my paws on.
Also splurged for the neat cover with the book light -- so in the evening you can often find me out on the porch on the hammocks with a dog on either side in blissful reading mode.
I think I have found my El Dorado.
Something to keep in mind when making your list of "what to bring to Ecuador" ~ just wanted to share :)
