Salinas Malecon the Bad News & Good News

Bad news first: The Salinas Yacht Club despite initial permit rejections is still pushing hard to get approval to build a huge dock in front of the Capitania that will be used for pretty much all the boats not belonging to their club. So.... write to the Mayor via his site: http://www.salinas.gob.ec/ even if it's a one liner noting your opposition. Better yet, put it on a piece of paper and deliver it to City Hall, (Alcaldia) ground floor where letters and notes are accepted.

Now the good news: We recently reviewed the plans for the beach renovation and malecon rehabiliation and it looks pretty good. Many of our recommendations were accepted. The plans are pretty comprehensive. They include improved lighting, improved handicap access, CCTV for security, public restrooms and more. You can support the effort using the same URL: http://www.salinas.gob.ec/
