U.S. Authorities Dismantle Internet Pedophile Network Throughout 14 Countries, Ecuador Included
According to Hoy.com.ec the United States announced today, Wednesday August 3rd, that they have dismantled an internet-based pedophile network reaching various countries including Ecuador. Officials have accused 72 people linked to the website of encouraging the sexual abuse of children. The authority’s investigation began in 2009, called “Operation Delago.” During the operation authorities arrested 52 people in 14 countries. The U.S. Department of Justice released a statement in which it identified the Internet site, Dreamboard, as the principle target for the investigation, a place where photos and videos of sexual violence against minors were posted. U.S. Justice Secretary, Eric Holder says the members of Dreamboard thought that they could use the anonymity of the Internet to motive these criminal acts.
