According to ElUniverso.com the group of Internet hackers, Anonymous, threatened yesterday, Wednesday August 3rd, to begin attacking Ecuadorian government websites in retaliation for limiting the freedom of expression and the ruling against the Ecuadorian news company, El Universo. Anonymous announced the threat of attacks via the website, YouTube, through uploaded videos. The group is calling the attacks, Operation Condor Libre and mentioned Article 19 of the Human Rights Resolution of the United Nations in their addresses. The website larepublica.ec reported this morning, that Anonymous began their hacking attack by targeting the website of Orellana’s Municipality. People trying to log onto the website were met with a defacement showing that Anonymous hacked the site.
