U.S. Tax dollars at work in Ecuador

The U.S. is deep in debt - and they are handing out scholarships to Ecuadorians to gain exposure - to U.S. culture.

I believe President Correa may have had a scholarship to the University of Illinois (I am not sure what type of scholarship or assistance he had) ----- and he makes no issue about his dislike of the U.S.

The U.S. military spent millions a year in the development of the Manta airbase to basically be kicked out ----- after ten years.

Why not spend these tax dollars of the U.S. for children in the U.S. to help them get their education.

And I would make a bet that the recipients will not be some poor Ecuadorian college student - Maybe - but I doubt it.
----------------------------------------

The U.S. Embassy announces competition for young university leaders who are interested in learning about history and the Government of the United States and who are enrolled in first through third year of college.

Seven scholarships. The "Study of the U.S." for university leaders, will allow up to seven Ecuadorian students traveling to the United States for five weeks, become more knowledgeable about American culture and strengthen their leadership skills. Participants must have an intermediate knowledge of English.
