Importing automobile misinformation

There is an individual who has a real estate blog in Guayaquil named dome nick buonamici, who has published some incorrect information about importing cars. In his blog he states that if you put your car, that is less than 4 years old and has an engine smaller than 3 litres, in the container with your other household goods, it can be imported free of duty or taxes. That is almost correct, which is like being slightly pregnant. What follows is language from the Aduana Del Ecuador website--that is Ecuadorian Customs. The operative word in this statement is "ECUADORIAN"

Based on Circular DGN-SGN-DPA-CR-082 The household goods and / or teams that have been shipped as of January 1, 2012, must comply with the following:

Being Ecuadorian return to the country with the intention of domicile and who has been abroad for a minimum period of three (3) YEARS.

That the vehicle model year is the last four (4) years, including the year of import.

In the case of used vehicles, damaged vehicles will not be accepted (with the legend "Salvatage," Salvage "or equivalent, in the documents of purchase). Property shall be demonstrated by attaching a Single Customs Declaration, the original title, registration, or Registration, or equivalent, on behalf of the migrant (not endorsed) and whose issue date is prior to the arrival of the person.

That has been shipped along with the other assets that make up the household goods.

IF CAR: up to three thousand cubic centimeters cubic 3.000cc, worth up to $ 20,000.00 when it was new, that is, they take into account the selling price in the "model" was released.
