We have been living in Mexico for the past 5 years and am considering a move to Ecuador. We would appreciate communicating with someone who lives in Cotacachi to learn a bit about the quality of life there. We are fairly well integrated in our Mexico life and do not need a large expat community to be comfortable in. Where we live is quite small but close to a large city and services. One of the main reasons for leaving Mexico is the air quality because I am asthmatic. I have read that Cotacachi has a very eco minded community with relatively clean air etc. As well we were wondering what the cost of living is like there. At present we are living in Mexico on $1500.00 Canadian dollars a month, peso equiv., and are hopeful that we can live on that in Ecuador. Of course that is relative. We do not live a very luxurious life and are happy with that. We do need Internet of course and are not sure about the infrastructure in Cotacachi. We live in what sounds to be a similar climate as we are about 2500 metres up in the mountains of Michoacan. I would very much like to make contact with someone living there and am planning a trip in October to Ecuador. Thank you!
