Well, folks, I have been properly put in 'my place'...guess I can not comment on 30-some years of living here! (See the bottom of this post.)
No problem at all, as this is the type of 'misunderstanding' that, now, we try to 'get away from.' My opinion is, that we are like an old record...if you can relate to that. We represent a part of Ecuador that still exists, but lies somewhat under the surface of psstuerized 'society' as others see it. Also, the 'reality' of Ecuador as the IL-indoctrinated ones have interpreted.
...And is profound in its representation of true cultural examples of life here. What can I say? Anyone who could possibly compare a little south american country, like Ecuador to, perhaps, Kentucky, or perhaps Massachusetts, well, what can I say?
I actually stand by and watch, sometimes with amazement, the cultural invasion of the uninformed. What can I actually say that would be accepted by folks that would not understand the culture here, and the parallel culture of the Indigenous as well, which season the country to the tune of about 50 or more percent.
I, personally, can't save the world, and I save the indigenous when I can...and that's been for over 30- years now, and that means more than saving you guys with alot of money to play with!
If anyone has an 'excess' of money, they can certainly pay back their love of Ecuador, if they want to, by helping one of the poorest groups of the Otavalen Indians---www.alishungufoundationDOTcom......and there are other 'foundations' to minister to.
