...Yes folks -- even paradise had a snake... And I was just rudely reminded once again of the importance of checking under the sheets before climbing in for an afternoon nap.... For a peek at what my un-invited guest looks like check out the picture at:

They do have difficulty climbing stairs so my living in the ground level pool house makes me a prime target. And yes I have gotten stung -- on my foot -- which reinforced the learniing curve to always having flip flops to slip on before heading to the bathroom at night. Miguel (our intrepid driver and all around good guy and friend) now mentions he nows the "antidote" -- evidently something to do with squashed scorpion goo... uh yeah...
The sting was pretty awful and it was just a graze but throbbed like the worst wasp bite of my life! And of course all I could thin in my half awake and dazed state was not "I'm gonna die" but "I can't call Dr. Jose! My bedroom is a MESS!" yes I was ready to 'die of shame" if that little shi--scoprion stinger had been lethal. Evidently it was not...
So lemme ask all you wannabe's who are coming to the Salinas area... still interested?
