One Forum Listing...My Opinion

I feel that this "top part" of the forum, which was implemented to eliminate 'hateful and contentious' posts....well why can't this be done away with?

There were contentous and trouble-making people that made daily posts before but not so much as of late....it was a drag and I'm sure it intimidated others from portraying their honest and true feelings, posts and opinions. So I'm glad that there is not that level of meanness right now! (Fingers crossed!)

SO, in light of this, why can't the forum revert to only one thread, instead of the "top" one and the "bottom" one. It would be much easier for the search forum to work and, by the way, this forum has one of the best searches that exist. People should learn to use it, it would be the least of the 'tasks' that they will be dealing with when living here!

For many new people coming to the forum, they do not understand this 'top' and 'bottom.' and as of late, the top seems to be a bit 'snarkey' too!

What do others think of this? On this note--- this forum should be for concrete, first hand KNOWLEDGE, and not "popular postings"---just for the sake of saying something.

Other forums have faults too. There seems to be a silent movement in my opinion to pastuerize and homogenize the real facts of life here, but well, that is OK with me, but there should be some truth also. It must be human nature to want to 'deny' anything that may threaten their personal mindset and vision of 'paradise' as it had been marketed to them! Just my opinion...

I say, come, see, and decide! There are lots of materials to read, from tourist guidebooks to personal blogs, etc. One has to invest the time in 'reading between the lines.'

I actually would offer myself for anyone who would wish to have an HONEST, Hands-On opinion of living here or an opinion of partaking in any venture such as a business, but of course, I would charge a consulting fee- which may be absolutely abhorrent in some peoples' minds! Ha, ha!

If you wish to have a relaxing stay 15 minutes from downtown Otavalo, near Cotacachi, and as a perk you can 'pick our brains' (ha, ha), stay two nights on our private 40 acre mountain!
