My Hero... Has passed on...

CBS News and 60 minutes legend Mike Wallace, the 60 Minutes' pit-bull reporter whose probing, brazen style made his name synonymous with the tough interview died over this weekend. He was 93 one of the greatest investigator reporters of all time. He confronted many villians that cheated people. Many Politicians and Presidents of other countries were scared of his tactics ::: Telling it like is in your face::: He is the reason why we have these great debates like this one on the XPAT forum::: We all have a little Mike Wallace in us... Rest in Peace::: WE WILL ALL MISS HIM DEARLY::: In one of his interviews before he retired he expressed that many Americans are addicted to pain killers. He confessed that he tried to kill himself one day with pain medication... There are 8 million Americans that are addicted to pain killers.. that have physical wth draws every day. The majority are between the ages of 25 and 55. Many older American Hippies that are Marijuana users that move on from our place in Quito to Vilcabamba ask me is it legal to purchase Marijuana and use for medical purposes................................
Here’s a quick break down before you choose Ecuador:::: You should consider Colombia if you are a heavy drug user::::: since it is legal to do all types of drugs there:::::::: Basically the two main questions that Ecuadorians ask me about Americans all the time 1... Why do Americans love to do so many Drugs? and 2... Why are Americans so Obese? If anyone on this fourm can help me sum this up in a nutshell I would appreciate it... My answers to them was 1) Woodstock started the drug revolution and 2) To many Super Size Commercials....

•ARGENTINA: Decriminalized for personal use in small amounts and for consumption only in private locations. Public consumption is generally accepted among the young adults and overlooked by police in the suburbs.
•BOLIVIA: Possession illegal. No move to decriminalize.
•BRAZIL: Possession illegal. Reconsidering
•CHILE: Personal use of marijuana in small quantities on a private place is not against the law. More than one person using it at the same place is considered as a group and thus is considered illegal.
•COLOMBIA: Possession of small quantities of all drugs legal; permitted “personal dose” for marijuana is 20 grams.
•ECUADOR: Possession illegal. No move to decriminalize.
•PARAGUAY: Possession illegal. No move to decriminalize.
•PERU: Possession of up to 8 grams (0.28 oz) of marijuana is legal as long as one isn’t in possession of another drug. However, I’ve read some first hand accounts about the police being fairly strict. Caution is urged.
•URUGUAY: Possession for personal use not penalized; law does not specify quantity for “personal” amount.
•VENEZUELA: Possession of up to 20 grams not punished.
•BELIZE: Illegal, but use by locals is slightly tolerated.
•GUATEMALA: Highly illegal. Possession by Guatemalans in not normally prosecuted for personal use, but tourists are commonly arrested and jailed for several days before being released.
•HONDURAS: Illegal, but use by locals is slightly tolerated.
•PANAMA: Illegal
•COSTA RICA: Illegal, but tolerated. Watch out for being set up. The are adding two more battalions of drug enforcement personal. They will be training men and women at the military Academy by the mall.
