Neighborhood changes over time

Neighborhood changes --- One thing that should be looked at when either renting or purchasing a home in Ecuador is what is the status of the neighborhood - and how it may change in the future. When I first arrived in Guayaquil in 1980 many of the upper end families lived in areas such as Urdesa and a lovely area called Los Ceibos. One thing that has happened in Guayaquil - once a new area begins development for the higher echelons you will see families begin to move out ---- Urdesa and Los Ceibos have clearly seen a decline ----Here is an article concerning the issue for Los Ceibols -----Much of the development has now been shifted to Sanbornodon ---- One are that has seen little change year after year --- is the old neighborhood of Centanario ------ surrounded by lower end barrios --- this old dame of a neighborhood has fought back time - and remains ---- a very nice place to maintain a residence. ---- Many of the old line families have stayed and keep the area in pristine condition.
