I just returned from the Ecuadorian consulate in Miami where I got a 6 month 12-IX tourist visa. I got there about 9:30 and was out of there by 1PM. and now I have this beautiful new page in my passport and my wallet is thinner by $230.

All you need is your passport with at least 6 months left, a letter to the counsel general saying why you want the Visa, 3 months of bank or brokerage statements--notarized but not translated, a round trip airline ticket--I just took an itinerary from American, not an actual ticket and they accepted it. Then I purchased a one way ticket because Friday 22 June is my last trip from the US to Cuenca, my new home.
