Please Share How You Transfer Money from US Banks to Ecuadorian Banks

Has anyone transferred funds from a US bank to Banco Bolivariano? If so, I'd like to know how you went about it.

I'm working on getting the certificate of deposit for the 12-II visa and my contact at Banco Bolivariano in La Libertad gave me a basic transfer instruction sheet with data on intermediary US banks (Wells Fargo and Citibank). When I called each bank to understand exactly how $26,500 of mine would get from my bank to Banco Bolivariano, the lackluster answers/understanding of the service representatives left me with little confidence that my money would make it from point A to point B.

When I googled, I learned that Wells Fargo and Citibank each have "Global Remittance" services with banks in Ecuador among other countries. Unfortunately, this "Global Remittance" service has very restrictive daily and 30 day limits on how much money I can transfer (not to mention that their customer service reps don't know much about it). Does anyone know if this is different from an international wire transfer?

Any info is appreciated. I'd run a test transfer but I'm under a time crunch to get the full amount into my Banco Bolivariano account as soon as possible.
