Unreasonable expectations; CA Couple leaves coast

Good example of a couple who came here with false expectations of a life in paradise - running a hosteria on the coast where they could surf and live the "good" life.

Frustrated they couldn't "get it done" in 3 months, they are selling all they purchased as necessary and heading back north.

So I have these new neighbors. They arrived 3 months ago from California. Like the rest of us, they had a dream of a new life in Ecuador.

They came with the intentions of staying. They sold their house, their cars, packed their dogs in travel crates, and hopped a plane.

They rented a house (3 months - $5,000). They began to look for a house or property to purchase. They negotiated a deal to buy 2,500 meters of beach front property to build a house and hosteria. They began to acquire the things in life that they did not feel that they could live without.

As we all know, trying to accomplish anything here takes time. The wheels of government turn very slowly. We have all suffered from the differences in our American ideals of professionalism vs what we encounter here in most offices. However, they are not patient people. They have decided that they can not live here and are returning to California.
Here is what they have accumulated in less than 3 months. ....
