Ecuador Elections: Current news

It is Election Season here in Ecuador too. And new policies are allowing people to change their voting district to where they live not where they were born.

Unfortunately it was discovered that there were irregularities with voter fraud on the signatures to do this and the individual in charge of this part of the election has since been removed from office.

Diego Borja is Removed from the Government

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Integration announced the dismissal of Diego Borja from the Commission of the New Regional Financial Architecture.

Borja was removed by the involvement of his political movement in the case of forged signaturesfor its registration.
Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño confirmed on his twitter account, “we have removed Diego Borja from the government. His irregular management on the delivery of signatures for the registration at the CNE, forced us to take this decision”.
