Fishing and mooring fees

Well less than three months until our trip to Ecuador.
I've searched this forum for info on fishing and I am amazed at how little info there is on it here and elsewhere on the net. Lots of sites for expensive charters for Marlin and the like but nothing on the type of sport fishing we do on the west coast of BC.
On our trip my main priority is to spend one or two days fishing with some locals in a Panga. How do I go about that? Do I just find a fisherman and ask him to take me out or is it best to find a hotel that offers services like that? If so any suggestions? I did PM one member that offered a connection and room but recieved no response.

If we decide to move there a fishing boat is an absolute must for me, nothong fancy, a 25 foot Panga with twin engines will be perfect and from what I've been able to find online within my budget. More of a concern is mooring fees. Obviously I'm not going to be able to launch it by myself in surf or bring it ashore and remove the engines by myself, so moorage in a secure club will be necessary. Anybody know what the monthly cost of mooring a boat is? I know I will be limiting myself to a few larger cities that offer this but it is a deal breaker. I must be on the ocean and fish. One of my earliest memories is of my grandfather standing a wood apple box on end and me standing on it steering his commercial salmon fishing boat of the west coast of BC, and yes it was in good weather, but since then I have been in rough weather and Ecuador is not going to through anything at my that the West Coast hasn't.
