Moving to Ecuador, Please critique my situation

Age - 35 from Iowa, looking for possibly relocation late 2014 to 2015

Income - 3 part time jobs I can do remotely (totaling between $1200-$3000/month that varies). I have a masters in business and may be open to good opportunities teaching if available.

Savings - around $60,000

Spanish - 6 years of grade school Spanish, very rusty but understand numbers, vocab, and many verbs.

Goals - I want a location that is mostly safe understanding I need to be smart about what I wear, where im going, and at what times im out. I'm wanting to maybe try maybe the coast life and eventually move to the mountains or something more scenic. I want a place that is full of activities where I can still go to the gym, have some nightlife (im single with no kids), movie theatres, hospital/doctor, street markets, etc. I'm curious as to whether the Ecuador girls are into American guys, and how much language barrier will be an issue. I'm about 6', athletic, but sadly balding and I've accepted that :) I'll also need Directv in English and access to High Speed internet of at least 15-20mbps for my work.

My thoughts - Initially maybe for coast life Manta may be the place for me? Bahia and Salinas appear to small and Guayaquil maybe a little to unsafe. Manta is a larger city with activities but I don't know if I can get a nice coastal apartment (hopefully with a terrace) for $500-600/month. When I decide to move to the mountains I think Cuenca may not have the nightlife, concerts, sportings events, and teaching opportunities and that maybe a Quito will be a better option for me? If you guys would like to critique my plan or add comments I'd be very appreciative for your insight.
