Humidity in Cuenca

Tell me it isn't so.

My handy dandy Android smart phone has this wonderful app that lets us program many locations in the world as to weather. Present time, temperature, humidity, local time, wind speed etc. etc. You get my drift.
So I sit here in Thailand and it is getting to hot for comfort without 24/7 a/c, dreaming of being in the tropics but a lot cooler. My eyes drift across the room to my electronic dry box. I have one to keep my cameras and expensive lenses at an acceptable humidity. Presently in Jomtien, Thailand outside at 67%. It is much higher most of the time and that seems to make it uncomfortable.

So, I pick up the phone and look at Cuenca and low and behold, it tells me Cuenca:
Local time 11:03am, 12C high 19 low 11C feels like 12C Cloudy wind 13km/h Humidity 100%
I think it means that ability of the air absorbing moisture is at 100%. That seems drastic.

Humidity can form mildew on camera sensors and lenses. Once mildew forms on such you can throw it away. It is not economically repairable.
SO my question is for photographers in Cuenca. Do you use Dry boxes to protect your equipment or should I forget about bringing expensive equipment.? Do I need underwater cameras to take pictures. Is this high humidity as seen on my phone correct or is there a problem with the phone app? I will check it often from now on and let you know what the app tells me.
Thank you.
Concerned photographer.
