Police panic buttons

I'm not sure if this has been addressed completely on the forum...I know guitar girl brought it up once...

A police officer came to our home (we welcomed him outside because he wasn't Andy Griffith) and told us about the panic button system. You go down to the police station with your cell phone. They will take information, name, address (a list of your jewelry.just kidding) and program your phone. If there’s an emergency, you hold down one button for five seconds and an officer will be dispatched to your home. This system is only good if you are at home because that’s where the officer would go.

Before, it worked only within the province that you live. Now (for a 35.00 fee) you can be registered for the entire country. The new system would use a satellite for tracking in the case of an emergency. We have not gone to the police department ourselves to verify this, but, we will, because, who knows, it just may work.
