Professional Visa

Many folks have become interested in the Professional Visa as a means to achieve residency in Ecuador. I have heard and seen a lot of incorrect information on the requirements for the visa. I'd like to post. the correct requirements, as I do many of these types of visas as a facilitator.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR THE PROFESSIONAL VISA
FOR SENESCYT:
1. Copy of picture page of passport
2. Copy of 12-IX visa. You must be on at least a six month visa to have your degree registered.
3. Copy of your diploma/apostille. These must be notarized in Ecuador.
4. Letter in Spanish from SENESCYT template requesting the registration.
5. Original diploma with apostille. (They won’t keep this but will want to look at it.)
6. If your university is not on the list of pre-approved institutions, you must also have your transcripts, which have been apostilled. These must be copied and notarized in Ecuador. They will look at the originals, but won’t keep them.
FOR THE VISA
1. Copy of the picture page of your passport
2. Copy of your visa
3. Letter in Spanish requesting the visa
4. Completed application form with picture.
5. Movimiento Migratorio from Migracion
6. Copy of SENESCYT registration from internet.
7. Copy of diploma and apostille, notarized in Ecuador and translated, with translations notarized.
8. Criminal background check, apostilled, translated, and notarized.
