Warning#1, this will be a contentious issue, if it will get you all angry and unable to sleep due to how angry it makes you feel then do not read any further. If you read any further and get upset, don’t whine about it, you chose to read it. Warning/disclaimer#2 this “scenario” is fictional, it is not about a person or accuses anyone of anything. The example is only used to bring up the discussion on GRINGO behavior IN ECUADOR. Imagine this: A man posts a question on a forum asking about his relocation to Ecuador. There are many back and forth discussions and many people are helpful to answer his valid questions but something raises red flags. You google him and you become that the man runs a website that quotes other’s “user guides” on how to perform acts of pedophilia and has links to websites that contain pictures of children. Although it does not state directly that the owner of the website has carried out any such acts, doesn’t contain any pictures of children, and only quotes other’s “user guides” should you call that person out on it? In your eyes, are they welcome to Ecuador? How about if you find out a person intends to get involved in the sex trafficking of young Ecuadorian Girls, some possibly as young as 13? Do you tell that person they shouldn’t come? Is it your job to say/do anything about it or should you turn a blind eye and just hope it gets dealt with in due time? If you do move to Ecuador, you become ambassadors to all Gringos whether you want to or not. If 1 in 100 Gringos is a bad apple, Ecuadoreans will remember that 1. If I could stop that 1 I would do it. Isn’t the warmth and accepting nature of the Ecuadorean people one of the big factors in your decision to choose this country? Why would you let an outside plague ruin that? What do you think?
