Can we talk about sheets!

Well, the house is sold, will close in a couple of weeks, and The Great Purge continues. Since I am selling off almost everything, I have been in a quandary about my bed linens. I have heard about 89 different opinions about bed sheets in Ecuador, so I'd like to tap The Wisdom of The Group.
I can go cheap and cheerful with lots of things, but I really need good sheets. Is it possible to find, say, 400 thread count or higher sheets in EC at a reasonable price? If so, what might that reasonable price be? Roughly. Or should I just assume they will be difficult to find and bring my own sheets with me?
Now, I've also heard it said that mattresses in EC are not the same size as in the U.S., and others have said they had no trouble with the sheets they brought from home. Can we have a poll on who personally has found one or the other? Not word of mouth through the grapevine, but what you have personally found to be true. And, if possible, can you please state your location, so I can get an idea if travel would be necessary to find what I need.
