The Good, The Bad ...the GRINGOS

There are Good Gringos...
There are BAD Gringos...

And there are just plain Ugly Gringos...

Lately we have discovered a whole lot more of that last group coming to Ecuador. The ones who not only don't contribute but actually cause trouble.

Added to this list this weekend were two more -- of course they are completely blameless...just two innocent business owners ...running a local establishment catering to the Gringo community and of course allowing the Ecuadorians the opportunity to enjoy a real American experience, a real Gringo "bar"...

It was absolutely not their fault that twenty-eight teens 15, 16, and 17 years old were discovered in their establishment ...being sold and served liquor ...on Good Friday... when it was raided by 23 police officers.

Really...it was the doorman's fault!

Strangely enough for a town that runs on its gossip mill -- this has received ...no comment.

Is it that Salinas has learned to respect its inhabitants and therefore "innocent until proven guilty" is he new order of the day?

Is it that everyone truly believes that a school bus of minors could actually sneak in without either owner or any staff, bartenders, or regulars noticing ?

Or could it be that there is a threatening air towards anyone with the desire to discuss this publicly?

... Following the hearing on Monday -- the location has been shut for a month...the amount of the fine is still unknown.
