ESPNtwobrews:
Espn, you say the following:
"i'm so cute so I can say whatever I want" phase does not last too long.

ESPN is this from your experience?
Much information has become speculative and not factual.
Espn then you say:
The newer Expats, who have migrated here and after two short years, are quite confident they know everything about this diverse country, appear to be ignorant to this fact.

EsPN, this seems to be, in fact, rather speculative and not at all factual. Very antagonistic.
Why would you make such a demeaning characterization of the good people you refer to as "newer Expats?"
Yes, Windshadow did say there was an underlying prejudice toward Gringos. Let's take a look at what you had to say about the women of Ecuador in an earlier post of yours.

"It's also smart to wear paper sailor hats made from from US Visa Applications.

If it works, don't forget to velcro wallet pocket. You should also learn to like rice. It's also smart to include relatives in your monthly budget.

Last but not least, it's best if you can stay clear of actually sharing a common Language.

Don't worry about going out of your way to meet them. They'll find you absolutely every way imanginable.

Remember, don't listen to your freinds! It's definately not about the new opportunities you give them, it's all about true love."

You also said:
"
Livefreebstrong, I'm the one who said velcro your WALLET pocket. However, I do sympathize with you. My son is having a difficult time adjusting to the difference in culture with his new wife. I do believe that being a North American is certainly part of the reason that it becomes an a package deal for Latin American women. It would be naive to say otherwise. I am by no means saying that it is the only reason Latin American women want to marry North American men. I'm just saying that it's being blind to think that this wouldn't be an influencing factor.

No disrespect meant to anyone. For me these are just facts. However if someone wants to meet the local Ecuadorian woman, I will agree, that it is a very very easy move to make. ."

You also said:
"I too have experience in this situation. Just to be clear, you are advocating Latin women as great wives and you have known this young lady from start to finish, all of 8 years. According to your posts, you have raised her standard of living substantially. She has also acquired her green card through you, and now, she wants you to relocate back to the states. You were once retired.

However, since you are growing younger by the minute, you will also have plenty of energy to attend to her increasing material needs. Remember, she is only 30 and the US has much to offer those who've always been without. Love isn't happy enough here anymore, love wants to relocate to an even better standard of living.

You say Latin women are not "spoiled" like American women. Yes, they wear the fact that they have not had appliances like a badge of honor. Nevertheless, in every situation I have witnessed, this patiently changes and "needing more" becomes part of being happy.

There are exceptions, I am assuredly positive. But generalizations usually exist for a reason."

So Mr ESPN, are we to believe you and your son are having problems with the women here in Ecuador? I hope not but it appears you are. It appears you did not read my post thoroughly before making your comment either. Let me just say this, paraphrasing your own words ---"Perhaps the locals are simply not that charmed by certain individuals or how they behave toward others"
It has been my experience that the women of Ecuador are wonderful, loving, caring, beings that put up with things that they shouldn't have to put up with, like your prejudices toward them.
Like Shawann said previously, they are great people and just want to make life a little better for themselves because they have never had anything before.
