Connecting With Expats in Cuenca

Hi. I'm new to the forum, so kindly excuse me if this post is redundant:

On my exploratory trip to Ecuador in the next couple of months, to get a sense of whether it might be a good place to settle, I'd like to meet up with a few other expats for their "lay of the land" views. I realize there's lots of such information online, but it's always nice to shake a hand and trade a smile with folks. Of course, I'll be meeting people on the fly, too.

Any particular organizations/affinity groups (say, for hiking or Zen) that I might check out? I've lived and worked in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Central America, and I'm always happy to share my traveler's knowledge of those regions and/or offer volunteer services if such a group needs help.
