Lies in Ecuador: How one person claims they were “screwed” by a socialite

This is a very interesting article that to me reveals some very deep aspects of the culture that many of us are not aware of when first visiting Ecuador. Similar to the elephant in the room that everyone ignores. This is a woman from the U.S. whose mother is Ecuadorian. Evidently she had moved to Ecuador to write and claims she was trying to get citizenship. She was out of money and takes a job. I wonder if she ever plans on returning to Ecuador. There is one hacienda owner who I am sure will not welcome her back with open arms. I have a lot of questions like since her visa expired how did she get out or is she still there? A fascinating story. P.S. I have been a guest at this establishment and I will reserve from making any comments on my stay, the elephant may be in the room.
