Investor Visa - Any trouble Getting $$ back if leave?

I'm considering applying for the investor visa. Wondering if anyone knows of significant concerns people have had in getting the $25k back if they decide to no longer live in Equador?

Also, I have a more general visa question. My husband and I think we want to live in Ecuador long-term, but must admit we're not 100% certain. Is it best to apply for the 12-IX and 12-X visa first until we're sure we want to stay?
