Document Translation Charges in Cuenca

Dear Forum Folks,

My question to you is regarding the translation of my Documents from English to Spanish.

I have acquired my FBI and Florida State Criminal Background Check - Marriage Certificate & Birth Certificate all with Apostille within the last ten weeks.

I have inquired having the documents translated into Spanish here in Florida - then visiting the Ecuadorian Consulate in Miami for certification of the same prior to returning to Ecuador in August to submit my papers for an Investor Visa 9-II.

Now that I have run around that bush, my question is this... Many folks have posted on this forum how applicants for residency can/should/may take the original documents and have them translated in Ecuador prior to submitting them (along with A,B & C).

After receiving what I thought to be rather a sticker-shock translation fee of approximately $400 for the above stated 4 (four) documents it begs the question... what are the Translation Charges in say...Cuenca?

Total pages = 8
Total words = Approx 1300
(and no... I don;t have a rap sheet as long as my arm - lol)

So, to those fine Expats who used local translators in Cuenca or perhaps Guayaquil I ask if you might shine some facts on charges and perhaps how long the process took as well.
