Tsunami Risks in Ecuador, scholarly study

FYI: Should be read by anyone living on the coast. This is an interesting scholarly study on the risk of tsunamis along the coast of Ecuador. The group that conducted the report provide some information on the history of tsunamis in Ecuador. You might be surprised. The writers present a specific report on San Vicente in Manabi province and recommend it should be considered the village possibly should be relocated. They also predicted that there was a better than 80 percent chance a tsuanmi would hit Ecuador in 2015. Not sure if that is a typo and whether or not they meant 2016. Anyhow, it does appear there is significant risk of a tsunami along the coast. 1906 seems to have been the worst tsunami on have been the worst. A tsunami in the 90 killed over a thousand people in Ecuador and Colombia. They discuss the amount of new development along the coast.
