Questions about hair care & beauty products

We're planning on moving to Vilcabamba the end of 2016. I'm a cosmetologist who will be bringing hair products & tools. I won't be officially working but if someone wants me to cut their hair, I want to have my stuff with me. Will the agents have a problem with these items in my checked luggage? Are there places to buy hygiene items or makeup? What kind of shoes are good for a woman there- I've heard women say they didn't bring enough shoes, or clothes because you can't get them there in our larger sizes. My hairstylist friend moved to Peru & she warned me to bring a 9 mo. supply of shampoo & conditioner because we hairstylists don't use the poor quality stuff in the stores anyway. She said she flies home once a year to get more. Are there hair salons in Loma that would color my blonde hair or will I have to do it myself? These might seem like trivial questions, but I want to cover all the bases in preparation. Thanks.
