Hello,

Newbie here!! I've enjoyed reading all of the helpful and realistic information shared on this forum. I am a speech pathologist with over 15 yrs of experience living in SoCal. I am very interested in Ecuador as a possible place to relocate and/or as a retirement spot. I visited Quito back in 2005 with Operation Smile but I was volunteering/working and didn't have much time to sight see. However, I was so impressed with the warm nature of the locals that I met and their hospitality.

So, has anyone heard anything about Las Olas? I've been emailing with a seemingly nice and not-pushy saleswoman and I wanted to get some opinions from locals. Would anyone recommend investing in this community? I do plan on an extended visit to Ecuador in the near future before deciding anything.

Also, does anyone know if a speech therapist can find work in Ecuador? I am functional in Spanish with what i need to say to do my job. I am taking lessons to become conversational as this helps me currently in my work living in SoCal and hopefully in the future if I make the move.

Any guidance would be appreciated. I will continue to spy on this forum and I look forward to hearing your insightful responses....gracias!!!
