electric vehicles

Hello all, My name is Jim, I had not to long ago broached the subject of electric vehicles in Ecuador and did not get as much feedback as I had hoped for. So, I am broaching it again. My wife and I are purchasing land outside of Cuenca (we have visited before) and I am trying my best to find a way to continue working at something I enjoy. I have been both converting ICE vehicles to full electric as well as building them from the ground up for going on 15 years. I am aware that most people do not need a vehicle in Ecuador and that is all well and good but, my wife and I are explorers and we like a vehicle to utilize to obviously go forth and explore. I realize the import taxes on vehicles are excessive and am thinking about electric auto/motorcycle construction IN Ecuador. I can import all of the components including aluminum Jeep/Toyota Land Cruiser and Suzuki Samurai bodies. My question is would any of the ExPats in Ecuador want or need something like this? I am not looking to get rich, just do what I like to do and make a living. Any thoughts?
