Is there Demand for Academic Tutoring in Salinas?

Aloha! I'm a teacher/tutor coming for about 6 months to check things out in the Salinas area before heading back to China where I work as a uni professor. But with CV and such, I might stick around should things get interesting and China turn too weird to return. Been teaching for almost 20 years mostly AP/IB stuff, college stuff, etc. Got a doctorate and a ton of experience but one of the things that attracted me to Ecuador was the ease of sole owning a business. This has been tough to find in Asia -- 'cept for a few places. Covid shut down travel in Asia and the education business is really a travel-based one in Asia as international schools are all the rage. Working for public SE Asian schools is generally a slave-master relationship. University is really nice and that's always an option as well as online uni work now. In other words, I have no intention of retiring -- how can you retire from what you are? But I'm hoping to explore starting a small program for kids through adults, as well as professionals and such. After school, academic camps. etc. I've always thought -- as kids go -- that the USA turned away from the three Rs and that's been bad for kids. Bad for adults, too. Anyway, just introducing myself on the forum here and will likely knock around Salinas and environs for a few months in 2021 getting a feel for things. You'll find me in the water doing laps and riding my bike -- when not writing for academic publications. Got to publish now more than ever to get some traction in the academic sphere. If only I had a few good ideas....covid lockdowns have a way of turning us into zombies. Peace. The Mysterious Stranger.
