I am new to this site but am so glad it is here! My parents and I spent 2 years in Cairo, both serving at the embassy there. I LOVE EGYPT! However, when my mother and I went south to Aswan and the Red Sea, we were harassed non-stop. We were so frazzled that my dad came down and then it all stopped. When I went out without my mother, I got marriage proposals, touched, jeered, etc., so much so that dad sent an official letter to the State Dept. asking that they
make a formal complaint! So tourists, beware and be careful and my dad is on this sight now too and referring
friends and colleagues to it. Sorry some are making fun of us who talk about it. I want to take some courses in Alexandria and work at a beautiful hotel there, but we are worried about the government changes and disrespectful boys.
