To be honest

To be honest, many highly qualified bi lingual born in El Salvador return here looking for executive positions before the Call Centers came in, most returned to live in USA or Canada, now many settle for work in Call Centers as 80% or more fluency in English/French is a big plus here and being over 35 is no barrier, many private El Salvadoran firms do not hire on merit, those with connections or "cuello" often garner the best jobs, this is a small closed society, not like USA where often one is hired on merit regardless of age or appearance, and everybody here is either related or they know each other!!! That is the one good thing about being 100% bilingual, a skill few Salvadorans have (Many Salvadorans speak English, but it is below 50% fluency)you should always be able to secure at least a teaching or call center (with work permit) position if you are over 35 years of age. The more 'connections' you make f2f locally the more options you have, some English speaking Salvadorans are deported others return to take care of their family. If you are a non Salvadoran with no family, friends or Spanish great place to retire and easy to make friends, again visit first and visit neighboring Central American countries as well, click on www.vivatropical.com/
