Moi!
I'm an unvaccinated American looking to travel to Finland. I understand that this is a divisive issue, but I humbly request that you respect my personal health choices.
I'm trying to follow the rules, but honestly the rules are confusing!
At the moment, flying directly from the US doesn't seem possible for unvaccinated American travelers.
However, it would seem that if I were to first stop in an open country like Iceland or Sweden, and then take a different flight over the Finland, this would be okay.
Raja (Finnish Border Guard) has this on their website (see attached file for screenshot):
~~~
1. Entry into Finland from EU and Schengen countries
What countries does this apply to?
The Schengen countries include...Iceland...Sweden...
There are no entry restrictions when arriving from these countries.
~~~
From the way this is worded, it sounds like the Border Guard allows unvaccinated American travelers arriving via other EU/Schengen countries.
Or is it that the word "from" refers to country of origin. What does "from" mean?! 1f644.svg
I would still need to take two covid tests upon arrival, which is no problem.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm not trying to be sneaky or underhanded - I'm honestly trying to understand the requirements as stated and work with them.
Kiitos!!
