Moving to Grenoble Aug. 26

Bonjour to all- I am moving to Grenoble in two weeks to be a lectrice at the Universite Stendahl. I'm so nervous! I want to find a good apartment without paying a huge finder's fee to an agency. I also don't know is there is an American community in Grenoble ( I know about the club in Lyon). I also want to look for more permanent work beyond my year's stint at Stendahl. Anyone with any ideas...I'd appreciate the help. Oh..je parle francais, je fait ma matrise et peut etre mon doctorat. Merci
