advice for family moving to Charente

hello we are parents & 3 kids, we are thinking of moving to the Charentes area of France, I have health problems & need to know about the winter weather, we are intending to do B&B or gite renting to top up uor income is this area good for this? I would welcome any real information esspecially on schools & any areas nice/ not so nice to live (everywhere has them now). is the employment situation very poor? my husband is a mechanical elecronics engineer& has worked as a quality control inspector & is a qualified motorcycle mechanic, I am a general anything legal,qualified hairdresser with science & horse qualifications, experienced in customer relations. our sons are 10,7,5 all high intellegence but none french speakers, how hace other kids coped? bye SAS
