anyone know any houses to rent in south west france for a 3 - 6 mth winter?

following advice i am looking to rent a place in france to try it out before we make the BIG move, if we ever do!
ideally someones holiday home/caravan for a cash rental - i can provide references -
we are mum 3 boys 10,7,5, & mayby but not certain our 2 dogs.
area choice is open for suggestion, poss' charente / aquitaine / dordogne etc but we are easy on this as we want to find out where we really like. thanks for reading my email is -
