Need a second car

We are American expats in the Grenoble area, and have been here one month now. We have found that sharing a vehicle is difficult, and are looking for an inexpensive car that my husband can drive to and from work. The van we have is a long-term rental through my husband's company, so we have not had to deal with registration, insurance, FR driver's license, etc. Can someone tell me what all is involved when buying a used car here? (We are not fortunate enough to be from one of those states that has the "international agreement"). Feel free to email me directly at [email protected]. Thanks!
