paying taxes as self-employed

I am just about to gain a carte de sejour as a self-employed photographer and art direction/production consultant in France. I will be joining both URSSAF and AGESSA. I have a consultant helping explain the French tax system and how I will pay French taxes. However, I am unclear if I will also need to file and pay taxes in the US as well. Is there such a thing as a fiscal resident? I will be in the French social security system but remain unclear on my financial obligations to the US social security system. I am just starting this business and do not plan to work in the US under it.
I hope I am clear and thank you in advance for any information or links that might be helpful.
