I have just discovered a superb company that sells basically anything you need for your house in wood - including the house itself!! They can help you with your plans and explain at length all the energy saving aspect of a wooden construction. I was amazed at how much money can be saved by building in wood as it holds the heat in winter, rather than our concrete ones which make the building colder!! Minimum of 12 times more economical!! They also plant 2 trees for every one used so ecologically I was very impressed. But for me the energy saving side of it was amazing. Would be far too long to explain all the advantages but I was very very surprised at how much this natural product can do!! They can also plan and install full sunken wooden swimming pools, wooden terraces, parasols 'paillote' in wood for the terrace (they are like the ones you see on beaches in the caribbean) and I really feel this information is worth sharing. My original plan over here in France was to invest in an old property, do it up and run gites - I suppose that's like a lot of us really. Unfortunately or not, my husband decided to set up his own business, so all our spare money has at present been invested leaving my gite well behind!! However, I did a lot of research into all aspects of renovating a house to run gites, and this is when I came across my 'wooden' man. I thought the swimming pool was absolutely beautiful and very classy - with a wooden terrace it was my dream house..... If you are planning to build a house, add a swimming pool to your own property or are doing up a gite and you want to make it special, please drop me a line and I will be only too glad to give you more information - and although this fella is french, I can give you a hand if necessary in translation.... Think Green but even more - SAVE MONEY ON THOSE AWFUL HEATING BILLS!!!!!!
