Need help with return to U.S. or job here. Robbed in Paris!!

I arrived in Paris on the 9th of this month. I am a first time traveler to Europe and was planning on moving here permanently, against all the rules and odds of succeeding. My plan was go to the Foreign Legion in Paris, then if I didn't make it in, to travel around europe looking for work till I found what to do next. Well, I didn't make it into the Legion, and was on my third night in a hostel in Paris, when while I was sleeping, my pants with my wallet in it was stolen. It had all my euros in there. I had emptied my bank account out in California before I left. Now I am broke and living at a B&B temporarily till I can figure out what to do.. I basically don't have anyone in the US who can help me, and don't know what to do. I'd like to work for money here or get help returning to the US. Does anyone know of anything or have any ideas???
