LIVE IN NICE FRANCE FOR 2-3 MONTHS

Hello,

I want to live in the Nice, France, area for two or three months to get to know people and make connections for potential future jobs. I am looking for a job where I can work in exchange for free accommodations such as working in a gite, as a caretaker on an estate, etc.

The website for the Consulate General of France in Los Angeles says regarding working in France for less than 90 days: US Citizens do NOT have to apply for a visa providing they carry the work permit from the DIRECCTE when crossing the border. A work contract must be sent to the local Employment Office DIRECCTE. If approved, a work permit will be provided by the DIRECCTE.

Does anyone have any leads on places I could work for two or three months in the Nice area in exchange for free housing?
